The Basic Plot

MEGA MAIDEN is an anime-influenced superhero action-comedy webcomic series.  It follows the misadventures of two punk girls in their 20’s – Isis Cook and Delaney “Dee Dee” Bell, aka Mega Maiden and the Chop Chop Princess who try their hardest to be the best superheroes they can be (they’re definitely not the best lol)!

What is Mega Maiden Rated?

Definitely Older Teen, but not NSFW

•There might be a blood, and maybe a little body horror here and there.

•My comics don’t usually have bad language.

•No graphic nudity(maybe a bare butt for lolz), although rarely it might be implied someone is naked, and you might see enough to know they are unclothed.

•there’s lots of classic superhero attire, so expect tights and leotards and cleavage.

•there is some mention of sex but we never see the actual deed.

•there is a few moments where some characters get a little handsy, so fair warning.

Origins of the Comic

Mega Maiden was not my first foray into the world of superheroes. I had dabbled a bit in the past, back in the late 90’s a friend of mine had made a series of comiczines called Teen Grind it was very much influenced by comics like uncanny x-men and gen13. but it was short lived, after high school we kinda got into other things. I started making my first webcomic Shonen Punk! around 2002 which eventually lead me back to creating superheroes in 2007 and then after a few other comic series i finally ended up creating Mega Maiden as a result of me trying to create a new Shonen Punk! spin-off series with the main cast living life as a superhero team called Zero Guard. Who eventually ended up in the pages of Mega Maiden.

What a lot of people don’t know is that my original inspiration for Mega Maiden came about when I had started to read DC comics for the first time since the 90s. I believe it was during the Flashpoint event. anyways, her direct influences were Wonder Woman and Power Girl from that era. her later looks and powers were very much inspired by Freefall from Wildstorm’s gen13.

How Long is Mega Maiden?

To be completely honest, I have no end planned. I didn’t want it to be a finite series. At first I had planned to end it around the end of season 2. which I kinda did do back in 2016, but then during covid I started reading Erik Larsen’s Savage Dragon and that changed everything. Reading SD lead me to discover Invicible, which led me back to superhero comics and that directly caused the creation on Season 3 aka the soft reboot. So now there is no ending just Arcs after arcs lol

About The Author

Hey, there. Hi, there, Ho, there! I’m Andeh Pinkard, the creator, writer, artist, aw heck I do everything, dang it! I hail from good ol’ Southern California, where I enjoy the good life, provided by punk and all things nerdy and geeky.

I’m not necessarily new to all this comic stuff. I’ve been making comics since around 2002 or so. I’ve worked on a butt-load of webcomics you may or may not have heard of, like Shonen Punk! The Goddamn Panty Brigade, Groperion, Oh! Editor-chan, Junk Ship, and more.

I’m also the guy behind the Comic Font foundry PressGang Studios probably most famous for the Adam Warren font family, which i totally asked for permission to make way back in the day lol
